On December 24, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center held the closing ceremony and reported the results of the "2024 Ho Chi Minh City Cybersecurity Live Exercise Program." The program was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center in collaboration with the Southern Branch of the Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA Southern) to enhance the capabilities and skills of detecting and handling cybersecurity incidents for agencies and units across the city. Through this, the program aimed to timely address weaknesses in people, technology, and processes, providing solutions to strengthen the ability to respond effectively when organizations are attacked.
Over the course of five lively days, from December 17 to 21, 2024, at the Quang Trung Software Park, the program brought together more than 60 participants from various units, including Red Teams (attackers) and Blue Teams (defenders), for hands-on exercises and cybersecurity skill training.
According to the organizers, the attacking teams deployed a variety of high-level attacks, exploiting multiple security vulnerabilities within the systems. As a result, the defending teams helped the managing agencies identify weaknesses and implement timely measures and plans to upgrade and fix vulnerabilities. Additionally, the program provided an opportunity for IT professionals to enhance their knowledge and sharpen their cybersecurity skills. Participants experienced handling simulated attack scenarios, including vulnerability analysis, defending against malware, and identifying threats created by Deepfake technology.
