On the afternoon of December 14, 2022, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) in collaboration with the Electricity Group, Vietnam Electricity Association, and ASEAN Engineer Registration Council organized the Ceremony of awarding certificates and ASEAN professional engineer badges to 109 Vietnamese engineers in the fields of electrical engineering, automation, information technology, and telecommunications. Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year's awards will be given to outstanding engineers of 2021 and 2022.

HPT is proud to have 17 engineers who achieved this certificate with the most stringent and comprehensive standards of the ASEAN Engineer Registration Council regarding qualification, capacity, proficiency in a foreign language, experience, and professional ethics.

To achieve the "ASEAN Professional Engineer" certificate, engineers must have a nationally recognized bachelor's degree in science/technology; have at least 7 years of experience working in a technical environment, including at least 2 years leading important projects in the field of electrical engineering; proficient in at least one foreign language (preferably English); meet the requirements of ethics and professional development...

Being recognized as a professional engineer is a great honor for an engineer. In many developed countries, professional engineers are considered the highest title to practice and a "passport" that helps engineers have the opportunity to work in ASEAN countries without going through a selection process.

This is considered a breakthrough in the international integration of Vietnamese engineers. The registration of ASEAN professional engineers promotes the formation and practice of higher standards; strengthens relationships, exchanges expertise, and cultural exchange among ASEAN engineer members.

HPT has been and is cooperating with many organizations and businesses in the Southeast Asian region such as the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia... and will continue to make new strides in the near future. It is hoped that HPT will continue to expand into new markets, collaborate with international teams to gradually affirm the position of the domestic information technology industry.
