On September 20, 2024, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1013, officially designating August 6 of each year as Vietnam Cybersecurity Day. This marks an important milestone in raising awareness about cybersecurity, accelerating the implementation of tasks to protect national cybersecurity, and promoting the participation of the entire society in ensuring safety in cyberspace.
This decision aims to disseminate and spread the significance and benefits of cybersecurity to every individual, organization, and community. Through this, it seeks to create synchronization in actions from government levels to citizens, working together to protect the digital space.
According to the Prime Minister's directive, the Ministry of Public Security will take the lead, coordinating with ministries and sectors such as the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of National Defense, as well as media agencies (Vietnam Television, Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam News Agency, central and local press agencies, etc.) and relevant associations (Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vietnam Cybersecurity Association, Vietnam Information Security Association, Vietnam Information Technology Association, Vietnam Internet Association, etc.) to develop detailed plans and implement annual communication activities. These activities need to ensure practicality, effectiveness, and cost-efficiency, helping all citizens and businesses to correctly understand the role of cybersecurity in modern life.
